Conventions used throughout most manuals:

• Analogies – "It is helpful to think..." is often used to make analogies of what may be more abstract concepts
• Emphasis – Bold and ALL CAPS fonts are used to emphasize key words or phrases from the rest of the sentence
• Examples –  are used to further reinforce knowledge of what is read
• Regular Tips – ways to do concepts easier and faster.
• Memory Tips – are used also to help reinforce retention
• Animations – are used to convey concepts that are not easily understood by word or graphics
• Best Practices – "It is best practice" is used quite often to highlight industry standards
• Correct order – Concepts are explained in a logical order. For examples, it is best to learn how to style a list BEFORE learning how to style vertical, horizontal or an tabbed menu.
